BIBLICALLY-BASED
What We Believe
We affirm that the Bible is divinely inspired by God, free from error in its original manuscripts, and holds ultimate authority in all matters it addresses. The Scriptures serve as our source of inspiration, encouragement, and practical instruction, guiding both personal growth and the conduct of the New Testament church. (Psalm 19:7-11; Luke 24:27, 44; John 5:39; Acts 1:16; 17:2-3; 18:28; 26:22-23; 28:23; Romans 15:4; 1 Corinthians 2:13; 10:11; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)
We affirm our belief in one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. These three persons share the same divine nature, attributes, and perfection, and are equally deserving of our love, trust, and obedience. God is the creator and sustainer of the universe, sovereignly ruling over all, desiring the worship of His creation, and actively pursuing personal relationship with humanity, whom He created in His image. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 12:29; John 1:14; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Colossians 1:14-16; Hebrews 1:1-3; Revelation 1:4-6)
We believe in Jesus Christ, who fulfilled Old Testament prophecies as the Messiah. He came into the world to reveal the Father and to save humanity from sin. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, yet He lived a sinless life, making Him the perfect sacrifice to redeem all people by His death on the cross (Luke 1:30-35; John 1:1-2, 14, 18; 3:16; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Timothy 2:6; Hebrews 1:3).
Jesus Christ possesses a unique nature as fully God and fully man, functioning in both divine and human capacities (Luke 2:40; John 1:11; Acts 2:22-24; Philippians 2:5-8; Colossians 2:9-10; Hebrews 2:14; 4:15). He rose from the dead in a glorified body, and those who believe in Him will also experience resurrection into eternal life (John 20:20; Philippians 3:20-21).
We affirm that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, fully God. He serves as our advocate, guiding us into all truth. The Spirit imparts spiritual life, confirms our identity as children of God, strengthens us in our weaknesses, and intercedes on our behalf. He regenerates those who do not yet believe, seals and baptizes believers, and sanctifies them for a holy life. At the moment of regeneration, the Spirit baptizes believers into the body of Christ and permanently indwells them. (John 14:16-17, 26; Romans 8:9-11, 16, 26; 1 Corinthians 2:10-11; 12:13; 2 Corinthians 1:21-22; Ephesians 1:13; 4:30; Titus 3:5)
We believe that the first man and woman were created in God’s image, endowing all humans with immense value in His sight. However, when they sinned, they introduced both physical and spiritual death to humanity. Consequently, all people are born with a sinful nature, separated from God, living in darkness, and committing sinful acts. They are in need of reconciliation with God. The only exception is Jesus Christ, the perfect Son of God, who lived a sinless life in loving obedience to His Father. He paid the ultimate price by dying on the cross to atone for the sins of all mankind, reconciling to God all who believe in Him.
This act of God’s grace restores men and women, created in His image, from spiritual death to spiritual life, bringing them into the light. Through Jesus Christ, we are not only restored to a right relationship as sons and daughters of God but also empowered to participate in building His kingdom on earth. We receive eternal life through Him, which begins as we fulfill God’s purpose in our lives today. (Genesis 1:26; 2:17; 3; 6:5; Psalm 14:1-3; 51:5; Jeremiah 17:9; John 3:6, 16; 5:40; 6:35; Romans 3:10-19, 23-26; 8:6-7; Ephesians 2:1-3; 1 John 3:8)
As followers of Christ, we believe our calling is to walk worthy of the Gospel, which entails living a holy life. Despite our desire for holiness, we recognize a tension: we face opposition from the devil, our own sinful nature, and a worldly culture that tempts us away from our calling. We acknowledge that achieving sinless perfection in this life is impossible, and as Christians, we continue to experience sin and suffering. However, through God’s grace, He has provided us with the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, empowering us to live abundantly and honor Him.
By resisting the devil and our fleshly desires, and by yielding to the Holy Spirit, we receive the power to walk in obedience to Christ amidst opposition and temptations (Romans 6:11-13; 8:1-17; 12:1-2; Galatians 5:16-23; Ephesians 4:22-24; Colossians 2:1-10; 3:1-10; 2 Timothy 3:12; 1 Peter 1:14-16; 1 John 1:4-7; 3:5-9).
Additionally, we affirm that Satan is a created angel who rebelled against God, leading to his judgment. He deceived humanity into sinning, but through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Satan has been decisively defeated (Isaiah 14:12-17; Ezekiel 28:11-19; Matthew 25:41; Revelation 12:1-14; Genesis 3:1-5; Romans 16:20).
We believe that the Church, both globally and locally, has a vital role in bearing witness to God’s love for the world through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Each local church should dynamically adapt its ministry, worship, and teaching to effectively reach its particular culture, while steadfastly adhering to Biblical truths.
We also uphold the practice of the ordinances of baptism and communion within the Church as consistent acts of worship, celebrating the work of Christ and anticipating His return. Regular gathering for prayer, fellowship, and teaching is emphasized by Christ to nurture these practices of worship (Luke 22:19-20; Acts 10:47-48; 16:32-33; 18:7-8; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; Ephesians 1:4-14, 18-23; 4:3-10; Hebrews 10:24-25).
